Guy Ngandu Kalonji

Chief Engineer

Mr. Kalonji leads the airframe design on HyperStar and the integration of the H-MAGJET engine into the aircraft ensuring the necessary thrust for hypersonic flight and the demand from customers providing the fastest air travel in the world

As lead aerospace engineer, Mr. Kalonji is responsible for the revolutionary development of the hypersonic hybrid superconducting H-MAGJET engine (Hypersonic Magnetic Advanced Generation Jet Electric Turbine) combining the development with the design, mission and performance requirements of the HyperStar aircraft. Mr Kalonji has been the key airframe lead for the HyperStar Program, his deep experience integrating both systems platforms, engine and airframe, and focus on test and future operation ensure success of the program at first flight. Presently his focus covers the H-MAGJET engine and getting key components designed and tested that combined into the H-MAGJET engine will power HyperStar to Mach 5.0.

Mr. Kalonji was the Chief Advanced Aero-Propulsion Engineer and Designer of the concept of the hypersonic aircraft Leopard HBJ (hypersonic business jet) under the HYVEC Project in 2008. He has significant expertise in CFD (computational fluid dynamics) and aerothermoanalysis. The HYVEC Project was an advanced concept study of feasibility for hypesonic crusie vehicles (speeds over Mach 5.0). This project started in Baton Rouge, LA. USA and finished in Toulouse, France. The complex air vehicle program was managed by multidisciplinary optimization (MDO) to optimize the aircraft to the best mission and performance, this same design and mission development technology is employed in the HyperStar development, optimizing it’s airframe and propulsion systems for manufacturing development.

In 2007 Guy Kalonji graduated from the University of Caen Laboratory of Mechanics, Mathematical and Numerical Modeling (France), with a Mathematical and Mechanical Engineering Master’s Degree.
